  1. Leo Barker

Vyvanse has been great for a near life-long binge eater. I had suffered from undiagnosed binge eating disorder (BED) as well as PTSD (stemming from sexual abuse) since I was a child. My psychiatrist suggested Vyvanse 40mg for the binge eating (also for mild adult ADHD). I figured that because this is a stimulant, I would have panic attacks; WRONG. I have energy and the desire to accomplish goals again. I no longer obsess over food. I no longer feel addicted to sweets/carbs/horrible foods I used to binge on. I no longer binge eat in general, which allows me to be in a calorie deficit and therefore LOSE WEIGHT. I have been taking this medication since 3/20 and am down 15 lbs today on 4/10. TO NO LONGER BE A PRISONER TO FOOD IS AN AMAZING, FREEING FEELING. Side effects: FREEZING COLD HANDS. 🙂 Wishing you all peace, wellness, and a good experience with Vyvanse like I have had so far

  2. Dylan Walsh

I was 306 lb in Aug. 2019. I started taking Vyvanse to treat my ADD and binge eating. I had to start low at 10 mg and increase every 2 weeks by 10 mg. I’m now on 70 mg. This is a miracle drug. I can focus, have energy, and completely have increased my energy. I usually eat just fruits and veggies in small portions. I instantly just wanted healthy foods. This is not a weight loss pill and should only be used if you indeed have ADD or ADHD with BED. But for me, I now weigh 220 lb, so in about 6 and a half months, I’m 85 lbs down! It’s actually quite remarkable

  3. Violet Mills

I have anxiety, depression, OCD, and PTSD. Vyvanse took care of my depression, anxiety, and PTSD. My straight A GPA skyrocketed to a straight 99% in every single class. I’m in the master’s program now and my life has flipped a 180. I’m a functional, happy adult.

  4. Lucy Shaw

I struggled with manic depression, PTSD, minor bipolar, and ADHD since I was around 6 years old. Long story short, I had drug-addict parents, was kidnapped and raped at 11 years old for 3 years, got pregnant at 16, lived with friends of family until 18, and graduated at 20 years old. I have 4 wonderful kids, but my life is a constant struggle of mood swings, flashbacks, etc. My doctor gave me the 40mg dose to start, and besides a few minor side effects (higher anxiety on and off for the 1st week, lessened appetite), I have not felt this happy since my kids’ births. My older kids have noticed my home is cleaner, I’m up earlier in the mornings, I can stay on one train of thought before moving on to another, and my younger kids are happy that their mother can play with them without running off to the bathroom after 10 minutes because I couldn’t stop crying. No medication can change you 100% of the time. I still have some off days but far and very few between

  5. Ruby Hudson

I take Vyvanse for ADHD and Binge Eating Disorder. I began taking 50 mg Vyvanse in August 2016, and currently take the same amount. Over a span of about 2 years, I lost 70 pounds and got into the best shape of my life. I had great eating habits. I was sociable and doing great. I got everything done in a timely manner. All of a sudden, it stopped working 2.5 years after I started taking it. I gained over 30 lbs in about 3.5 months. All my hard work just disappeared. I don’t know what happened, but it is devastating. I am so tired all the time, have no drive to do anything, binge eat every day, and I’m angry and irritable. It’s been like this for months. I’m a shell of myself. I suggest it for short-term use but not long-term. If anyone else experienced this, I’d love to hear about it

  6. Oscar Reid

At first, while taking this medication, the side effects I experienced included increases in heart rate (which made me feel a bit lightheaded and weak) and stomach discomforts (making me less hungry throughout my day). These are things you will experience with anxiety, which is something I dealt with growing up and wasn’t much of a concern for me while on the medication, but something to note for people looking to use Vyvanse for the first time. You will notice an increase in motivation! Taking this medication was more helpful than my antidepressants were in the sense that it made me feel so much more motivated to do everyday activities. If you’re concerned about the effects this medication will have on your weight, know that you will have a loss in appetite and experience weight loss. Before taking Vyvanse, my weight was at 125 lbs. After a few months, I dropped to 110 lbs. When I took a break from using this medication for focus and motivation, my weight went back to 123 lbs. Thanks for reading

  7. Freya Dawson

I recently stopped Adderall after attempting to quit for years. So I was skeptical about trying this, because I did not want to be disappointed. I read through the reviews and was desperate for anything. I got prescribed 60mg because that’s the dosage of Adderall I took before. A week later, and I want to cry with joy. I feel NORMAL. I’m hungry when I should be and not when I shouldn’t. I don’t care for sweets AT ALL. I don’t feel anxiety or depressed anymore. I feel genuinely happy and focus on what’s really important, etc. I feel in control. My view on my body and what it does for me has completely changed (hence the ‘I feel pretty’ movie). I know everyone reacts differently to medications, but this saved my life. I hope it continues, because I have never felt so much gratitude, peace, happiness and in control as I do now. I hope everyone who is struggling out there can read this and know you are not alone… and that there is indeed hope

  8. Oliver Briggs

I have ADHD, Bipolar Depression, Opioid Side Effects. First, do not pay attention to negative reviews about Vyvanse on here. I will tell you now that I would not be able to function without Vyvanse 70 mg QAM being on board. It gives me smooth sustained focus, a mental state of peace, relief from depression, potentiation of opioid narcotics (thus needing less opioids overall), drive, ability to sit still, work a great job, have meaningful conversations, have good relationships, take part in everyday life, work out and even sleep well. It does take a while to kick in, so I wake up in the morning like 2 hours before I need to, then take the med and go back to sleep. When I wake up, the drug is active and working. With Vyvanse, I get 10-14 hours of relief, and at the end of the day, there is a gentle comedown that doesn’t leave me an anxious wreck. In fact, Vyvanse helps with anxiety profoundly, far better than benzodiazepines, which sounds crazy, but many people report the same thing.

  9. Jack Palmer

As a 44-year-old male, who recently went for treatment of this problem. I went for almost 43 with always knowing that something was missing. Being an overachiever, I made every attempt to complete everything but never really completed anything. This drug has changed that. It allows me to focus on the task that I have in front of me and complete it, which has been a breath of fresh air for my job, my marriage, and my kids

  10. Olivia Carter

I have been taking Vyvanse on and off for a little over 2 years. I am currently taking 70 mg. It really helps me focus and multi-task at work. It also has helped with my anxiety, and I am able to tackle things that normally I would try to stay away from doing because of my anxiety. I usually take it during the weekdays and not take it on the weekends because I can go 10 to 12 hours without eating and barely having anything to drink because my appetite is not there. I’ve lost 95 pounds since taking Vyvanse. It also has made my libido go through the roof. There’s an upside and downside to the medication. Overall, it has helped more than it has hurt, but there are negatives and positives

  11. Liam Bennett

I have been on Vyvanse for 2 months now and started at 30 mg. That did nothing at all. Then I upped it to 40 mg. I have headaches constantly, no appetite, and constant mood swings. I’ll go from happy to crying to just plain mean within minutes. If I’m not having mood swings, then I’m pretty much emotionless. I also have manic depression and a severe anxiety disorder. Vyvanse has done nothing but make my depression and anxiety worse, and now it’s causing marital problems

  12. Emma Hughes

I’m 24 and was diagnosed with ADHD in March of 2020. I’ve been on the Vyvanse train since July of this year. After trying a couple of other meds between ’21-’22, I was nervous because of past history with other stimulants. To my surprise, I took very well considering the side effects. Headaches, fatigue, loss of appetite, but those went away within a week or so. I have tried different dosages, 30 to 40 to 50 back to 40 because I thought 50 was way too much right now. Presently, I would tell everybody that when increasing or decreasing dosages, the side effects do not last long. Overall, this medication has made me a better son, a better friend, a better listener. I really do love this medication and recommend it for ADHD

  13. Ava Richardson

I am an older adult who started taking Vyvanse about three months ago. I had been feeling tired and had a hard time focusing on work. At night I would come home and did not feel like talking with my family. I didn’t like interacting with people at work. This had been going on and developing for quite some time. (Over the course of about 10 years) I talked to my regular doctor and nothing, psychologists were worthless. After seeing a psychiatrist he prescribed me 30 mg of Vyvanse to take in the morning. What a difference this drug has made for me, able to focus, function better socially, and just feel better. I’m 62

  14. Noah Patel

Vyvanse has been a lifesaver! I have ADD and suffer from depression and anxiety. I suppose the best thing about Vyvanse is that it greatly helps my depression and anxiety. I have energy to get things done and stay focused. I don’t have all that constantly thinking and worrying going on in my head all the time.

  15. Ethan Brooks

Vyvanse has changed my life in the best way! It’s almost like a motivation pill. I can spend 12 hours in the library at a time studying, with little distractions. I made a 4.0 my first semester of college. I used to always want to work hard and study, but could never quite pull it together, and with Vyvanse I can! The only downside is the dehydration. Remember to drink lots of water, or you will get headaches

  16. Maxin J

I have to give Vyvanse a solid 10. I asked my Dr. to switch me from Adderall instant release 20 mg 2x a day to Vyvanse, and in my honest opinion, this was the best decision I made. Vyvanse helps me focus, more motivation, feels more subtle, which I absolutely love. Adderall, for some reason, made me feel like a different person, but with Vyvanse, I feel like myself still, which is great. It is really long-lasting, I don’t know or understand how people say it only lasts for a few hours when, in my experience, it lasts a good 12-13 hrs. In fact, I heard people say it loses potency after 4 hours or so, but in my experience, I think it actually increases. But this is just my experience, and maybe metabolism as well, but anyway, I hope this is helpful for others.

  17. Mason Clarke

LOVE IT. I took Strattera for 4 years but switched because of terrible nausea and anxiety. The first 3 months I had terrible migraines, lack of appetite, and trouble sleeping. Keep taking it daily to give my body time to adjust. No side effects now and a huge, HUGE improvement in work, concentration, and motivation.

  18. Melanie .Y

I have struggled with binge eating disorder for close to 30 years. I have tried everything: therapy, eating disorder outpatient program, DBT BED program, and the struggle is still brutal from the moment I wake up until I go to sleep. When I started Vyvanse at 20 mg, it literally felt like a miracle. That obsessive voice in my head that thinks about food non-stop was quiet. I have tried several other medications for BED that did nothing. I was so excited, I was telling everyone that I felt normal for the first time. And then it stopped working about a week and a half ago. I am absolutely devastated. I asked my doctor to increase my dosage and am hoping that will help

  19. Kim Wuh

I’ve been taking 50 mg Vyvanse for 6 months now, and it has completely stopped my bingeing from day one. I also eat less during meals. The effect lasts for around 12 hours, so there’s still a small chance I’d binge eat if I happen to be staying up late. I try to avoid that.

  20. Maryanne Burking

Switched from Adderall to Vyvanse because I was experiencing negative side effects. Even on the smallest dose of Adderall, I was anxious, had trouble with public speaking, and would have pretty bad mood swings. On Vyvanse, I finally feel like a ‘normal’ person. My mom noticed a difference on the first day, and I no longer feel hopeless and discouraged while doing schoolwork.

  21. Fred CornW

Vyvanse has really helped for me (I have BED). I have been on it since May 2019. The first month I didn’t notice much of a difference. I was still binge eating really badly. After a few months, I went up to 40 mg. That is when I really started to notice a difference. It didn’t really stop the urge to binge, but it made my stomach hurt so badly after eating a normal amount of food that there was no way I could binge. It has been 9 months, and I am down 50 pounds. I still have about another 60 to 70 pounds to go, but I don’t really binge eat anymore. I was thinking I needed to go up in dose again, but I didn’t want to do that, so I stopped taking it for a week. I binged really badly and gained about 5 pounds, but being back on it again was like when I first started. I am hoping I can lose the weight again pretty fast and the medicine keeps me from binge eating. Personally, this medicine has been a lifesaver for me

  22. Isabella Turner

My 11-year-old son was diagnosed with ADHD 2 months ago. He was failing school (all F’s but tested at a high school level). After starting Vyvanse, he now has all A’s and two B’s. It has helped him to concentrate and work to his ability. This new drug has given him his life back. Side effects were mild, and the life effects were out of this world

  23. Nelson P

Vyvanse is, hands down, in my opinion, the best ADHD medication out there. I was on Concerta from the ages of 7 to 13, then again from 20 to 21. I received genetic testing, and it came back that my body doesn’t metabolize Concerta very well. So, the doctor gave me Adderall, which was too harsh with the come-up and come-down. Then, I made the switch to Vyvanse. Best decision. #1. You don’t crash when you are on it. It has the smoothest come-up and come-down compared to Adderall and Concerta. #2. Vyvanse lasts a good 10 to 14 hours in the body. #3. It has the longest duration of action. #4. It has low addiction potential. #5. It also is the only one that helps manage my binge eating disorder

  24. Warren J

It works, but nowhere near the 10–12 hours advertised. I get 5 hours out of my Vyvanse dose. And an hour of that is waiting for it to kick in. I’ve read an enzyme in your body has to convert this medicine into its active form, and if you have too much of this enzyme or if you’re a “fast metabolizer,” then one could have my experience. I’m switching to Dexedrine Spansules 2–3 times a day as I’m a Realtor and need full-day coverage

  25. Borie E

I am in my thirties, and Vyvanse was the first drug I tried for ADHD. At 20 mg, it was great for my symptoms, but only until about noon. Over a couple of weeks, I went to 30 mg and 40 mg. It was less helpful as I stepped up the dose, and I started getting terrible headaches in the evening. I will be trying something else

  26. Paul B

I am a 44-year-old woman who just got diagnosed with ADD. Vyvanse is the first medication prescribed to me, and I have been on 50mg for about a month. The first 2 days, I was hyped up, euphoric, and extremely talkative. After that, and now, it has actually mellowed me out. I am in a good mood all day for the first time in 30 years (severe chronic depression). I can’t believe the difference and wish I would have had something like this years ago. I might’ve had a better life. I can concentrate and happily socialize now. I have had zero side effects! Amazing.

  27. Lucas Hall

Binge eating for as long as I can remember. I wasn’t really alarmed until I surpassed my highest weight despite being quite athletic, actually, and not morbidly obese. I have been trying to lose the same 10-20 lbs for the past 5 years with no luck. I started investigating and weighing out my options. Vyvanse was the most viable. It checks all the boxes: 1) covered by insurance 2) can be taken short-term and long-term 3) little to no side effects 4) EFFECTIVE. It just works. Now of course, I am starting with the right mindset after so many failures, so I know there is no magic pill. But this is coming close to it.

  28. Isabella Turner

First I want to say that everyone is different and not everyone reacts the same to medication. I started with Concerta, it didn’t work for me at all. I didn’t feel like myself, it took over my personality, and I started to have heavy anxiety, panic attacks, antisocial behavior, and paranoia. Then I got Vyvanse, and it’s life-changing. It doesn’t feel like I’m on a prescription. It’s more a tool that helps me get through everyday life. I’m much calmer, I can concentrate on one thing at a time. I get so much more done, and I feel like I’m at peace with my mind. My patience has improved, I’m less impulsive, and I can sit for a long time straight without feeling bubbly or restless. Side effects: dry mouth, no appetite. But eat and eat smart, it gets back

  29. J. ryan

I have seen mental health experts on and off for over 50 years. Never diagnosed other than it’s just the way I am and you’re getting by. I was always a scatterbrain and always at the bottom of my class. I started taking Vyvanse through my own research and had a doctor put me on it. It’s like somebody turned on a light switch. No more brain fog. No more scatterbrain. I found my self-confidence. Wish I found this decades ago, but I’m so grateful I’m on it now. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

  30. Kai R

I took Vyvanse (70 mg) for about 3 years. It started out great. I loved it. It helped me focus, suppressed my appetite, gave me motivation, etc. After a while though, maybe 2 years, it started to change. (I think?) When it would wear off, about 6 pm, everything felt so “dark” and I felt starving. I would binge eat every night when it wore off, no matter if I had a meal previously or not. I just recently switched back to a different ADHD medication… it made me realize how different I would feel every night after taking Vyvanse. I feel like a new person since I stopped taking it. It just wasn’t for me!

  31. Philipe G

Vyvanse has changed my life, for the better. It gives me the motivation and confidence I need to complete tasks that otherwise would be daunting and unappealing. Talk to your doctor first to make sure you actually would benefit from it. The only downside is how expensive it can get if you’re not covered.

  32. Mia Ward

I’ve tried so many medications that really did nothing for me except give me more mental problems. When I started on Vyvanse, I felt invincible. If you’ve ever watched the movie limitless, that’s exactly how it feels! There was this short period of time that I took a break every now and then, do not do that! It made me chronically bipolar but I’ve started up on it and it really is the best medication you could have. If you wish to get off of it, I suggest you do so slowly and on days you don’t have it, drink caffeine. It took me 6 months to not have that addictive feeling, now I’m back on it because I’m going back to school. It’s up to you to say whether the side effects outweigh the epic benefits. It took me a while to figure that out. Good luck

  33. James Cooper

My 9-year-old son started taking this medicine 1 month ago. He was on Medadate CD for 3 years before this. It has been wonderful so far. His grades, homework time, handwriting, behavior, and overall outlook on things have changed for the better. The side effects are no appetite and trouble settling down at night, but they are getting better. My only advice is to feed them a very good breakfast before giving the medicine and have a good meal waiting when they come off.

  34. Charlotte Bailey

Before Vyvanse, I had tried many other medications. It helped me quickly. I realized that I actually liked school and learning. Within weeks, I went from failing to honors. But now that I’m older, I realize that it alters my personality and my mood a lot. And I find that when I don’t have it, I tend to feel like I am incapable of completing simple tasks

  35. Charlotte Bailey

40mg Vyvanse kept me awake all day, however, from the moment I took the 30mg dose I could stay awake and focused for 12 hours straight and still sleep at night. If I had this medicine in High School, my life today would be 100% different. I would have excelled in academics and done much better in sports

  36. Harper Price

I have been taking Adderall as well as Vyvanse on and off since I was in middle school, I’m 23 now. It seems to me that when I first started taking it, it made me feel like a zombie, but I would focus and work. Then I stopped, and now I have been taking Vyvanse, as you can tell, for a decent amount of time now. I started with 10 mg, then 20 mg, etc. Now I’m at 60 mg, and it seems to finally work. I am focusing and just doing everything right now, lol

  37. Imogen T

This is my second week on Vyvanse and all I can say is WOW! The fact that I haven’t thought about food all day long is a miracle. I’ve binged for around 36 years. I have gained and lost more weight than I care to mention. I hope anyone with BED finds help

  38. Amelia Foster

I was on Adderall for years until the highest dosage stopped working for me. When I switched to Vyvanse, I wasn’t sure what effects I should be looking for. Was it supposed to be like Adderall? No. Unlike Adderall, which gives you tunnel vision to complete one task at a time, Vyvanse allows you to focus on multiple tasks. You’re not wired and cleaning out your closet 10 times a day, it’s more like you’re normalized – the way that you should be. As far as appetite goes, it comes and it goes

  39. Borie E

I have suffered silently for about 35 years with binge eating disorder (BED). My weight has gone up and down, but in 2015, I lost 45 lbs. (I was having health issues) to reach my current weight of 130. But I struggled to keep it off. At the same time, I was having difficulty concentrating and completing tasks. My doctor thought I had ADD and prescribed Vyvanse. It helped with those symptoms, but the real surprise came when I was no longer obsessed with food. I didn’t even know it was prescribed for BED! It is life-changing for me. A miracle, really. I even sleep better at night. I had a few episodes of a panicked feeling initially, but they have gone away. I feel normal now, and my only fear is that someday it will be taken off the market

  40. Benjamin Cox

I have been taking Vyvanse for just a week. 40mg. The first 3 days, I couldn’t sit down. I cleaned my house and my parents’. Not just cleaned, but extra clean, like walls and moving furniture and everything. But now it has faded a little. I noticed right away that when I am doing stuff, it’s like I really concentrate and strive for perfection in everything. My appetite has been curbed, but I still eat. But nowhere like I did before. So far, I’ve lost 4 pounds. It’s been almost a week. I don’t get any feelings of jitters, or that I’m taking speed. I feel normal, I just want to do stuff. I’m more social. I always stayed in my home, but now I just want to go out. It’s a very nice feeling. I have no problems sleeping either, but I also take it as soon as I wake up.

  41. Henry Gray

For the first time in my life, I feel like my mind is mine to explore in ways I could never dream of. My brain is quiet when I need it to be, and emotions are so much more present in my body in a pleasant way that allows me to address them, instead of being at their whims. I feel like a different version of myself, one that can finally stop the shame and anger I directed at myself.

I have taken Adderall XR and Vyvanse. They both have a similar but not completely similar feeling when it comes to getting work done. But mainly my experience with Vyvanse is quite good but not great. I take whenever I get up to go to school (6-6:30), and it takes an hour to kick in. I have been taking Vyvanse for the last 4 years. It helps you focus a lot more than usual and it gives you the motivation to get work done. But the downside about it is that you feel depressed for a minute or anxiety, but after a couple of minutes you feel back motivated and happy. Also, I love that it gives you the mind clarity that I personally think everyone needs. Overall, my experience with Vyvanse is awesome. By the way, I’m 15

I have been a mental health counselor for 37 years and have worked with ADHD for 25. Of all the medications, Vyvanse is the best. It is important to start low, 20 mg, and then increase based on focus, concentration, and mid-afternoon agitation. Expect very few side effects. Slight appetite loss but manageable. Very important to take it at 7 am every day. May want to hold off on weekends unless there is a need to focus for study. Consider counseling to help stay on track and educate clients and families regarding the fact that ADHD is a gift of creativity and out-of-the-box thinking

Been taking Vyvanse for binge eating disorder on and off for 2 years. It is the only thing that’s helped me stop bingeing, therapy has never worked. It lifts the mental fog that usually clouds my judgment and leads to a binge, helps me understand my body’s ‘I’m full’ cues, and reduces cravings. Now that I’ve fully committed to taking it daily, it’s even helped me challenge my worst disordered food fears. In the past, when I lost weight, I only ate low-calorie unhealthy foods, but now I have the ability to challenge myself to eat healthy too, without being scared.

Vyvanse is not like any other ADHD med out there. It is better! A lot better! It does not matter how much Vyvanse you take, your body will not let the amphetamine level go any higher than it can process it. This gives you control. Vyvanse is a spark, it lets you choose what to focus on, rather than make you hyper and euphoric like other ADHD meds do. Why it does not work for some people? Because most people fail to use ADHD meds accordingly! No med is a ‘magic bullet.’ For those of us who actually have ADHD and have tried absolutely everything (healthy diet, good night’s sleep, exercise, multivitamins, etc.), Vyvanse is the ‘missing piece to the puzzle!

After suffering from various forms of an eating disorder throughout my life, I’ve been battling binge eating for 4 years, which at times is out of control. I’ve tried other medications for depression and anxiety, but this is the only drug…the absolute only med that’s helped with the binge eating. I am not taking anything else at the time of start & I’m now beginning the second month with only Vyvanse. At first while taking the med, I had no desire to binge eat & I would not have any urge to plan my day around the binging. This was unbelievable as I’ve been consumed every single day with binge eating. I have to say this med is exactly what I need while I work on the other components of recovery & therapy

Vyvanse has been a wonder drug for me. At the urging of my wife, I got tested for ADHD. I have been on Lexapro for years, but the emotional dysregulation, constant agitation, and mental hyperactivity hit a breaking point. I ran through some tests and visits with a psych. Methylphenidate worked slightly at first, but eventually minimal benefit. After trying Adderall IR, we settled on Vyvanse. It’s the best there is for me. My GAD is immensely calmed, I can focus on daily tasks and go about regular life without thinking each step through 7500 times and not ever actually taking action. Emotions highly regulated and can mentally tame my anxiety as I can now recognize it. I eat well, run and/or lift weights every day and am a healthy 34-year-old. Working out and food are not the sole answer for everyone. Vyvanse changed my life drastically. It sounds like a lot of people with negative reviews may have never really had ADHD or Vyvanse was the wrong medication for them

I am on my second month of daily Vyvanse 30 mg for my binge eating disorder. I am happy to say it has been an absolute godsend! I haven’t had a single binge episode. Furthermore, this medication has reduced my appetite to the extent that I feel like I have plenty of space to make healthy choices. I also feel much more able to take an introspective look at my behaviors and what needs to be adjusted in my life in order to maintain health and happiness. Basically, I am using the gift of the time spent on this effective drug to develop healthy habits and learn how to meet my needs properly so that I can one day live just as well without the drug. The only drawback I have noticed is that there is usually some point each day where I notice a feeling of low-level anxiety. Since it’s clearly coming from the medication and it passes quickly, it has been easy to cope with.

My daughter is 8 and has tried other medicines for ADHD. I did not like them because of the side effects, she was like a zombie. With Vyvanse, I don’t notice a major change in her personality. And she is focusing better in school. Much better grades. I love this medicine because she still acts like my daughter and not some alien

  50. Chloe Simmons

I started taking Vyvanse sophomore year of high school, and my grades went up, and I actually became a good student. But I went from 142 lbs to 117 lbs. Not a good medicine if you are not okay with losing weight.

  51. Scarlett Hughes

I was put on Vyvanse after my doctor diagnosed me with binge-eating disorder. Before this drug, I struggled for 6 years battling this eating disorder and gaining pounds along the way. Almost 2 years later and with the help of this medication, I have lost over 100 pounds. I feel great, this medication should be watched and used properly. My doctor was great about letting me know that it could make me stop eating altogether

  52. Samuel Butler

My 9-year-old is doing awesome on this. He only takes 20 mg for 7 months now, and it does just enough to get him through school. No change in his outgoing, sweet, kind personality! He had stomach pain the first week, he said it wasn’t bad – and that’s it! It’s helped him so much

  53. Grace Peterson

So I started this Vyvanse for my ADD, and I was trying to lose weight at the time too. Once I first started taking it, I saw an improvement. Before meds at all, I was 184 lb, when I first began Vyvanse, I was 150. Four months later, I am 127. I barely have an appetite, but I always do late at night, I guess when it wears off

  54. Andrew Perry

I’m 51 years old and was skeptical regarding ADD or ADHD. A counselor urged me to get tested. I agreed to do it because all I wanted was help. I no longer cared what the answer was for whatever was wrong. I only cared if it worked. So, I did the test and was told I was ‘off the charts’ the highest scores they had seen in years of testing. Today I take 120-150 mg of Vyvanse daily and it makes a difference. Nonetheless, even though Vyvanse has been very helpful, I still doubted whether ADHD was ‘real.’ I couldn’t understand why the medicine was so highly regulated. How could anyone get addicted to this stuff I thought? Then I realized people like me don’t get high from drugs like this and that’s one reason I know it’s working and ADHD is real

  55. Lily Barnes

I fought BED (binge eating disorder) and purging for 12 years before my PCP told me about Vyvanse. After a few days of taking the medication, all the obsession and thoughts were gone. Wow. Thank you Vyvanse

  56. Lily Barnes

42-year-old male recently diagnosed with ADD (no hyperactivity). Vyvanse is the only medication I’ve tried and I’m reasonably happy with it. Started 30 mg for 2 weeks. Felt a little jittery and had a funny taste in my mouth. Increased to 70 mg. No longer feel jittery, no funny taste, but my mouth is always dry so I drink a lot of water. Vyvanse seems to help me get more done. I can’t say I’m more focused, but I am more motivated, so the end result is more productivity, though not always directed in the best place. It decreased my appetite, so it was easier to switch to a healthier diet. Lost more than 25 lbs. in the first 3 months, which has also helped increase self-esteem, motivation, and energy level

  57. Zoe Wallace

My wife has been on this for years. As a husband, I personally hate it. It makes her not be herself. When she comes off of it, she becomes very defensive and aggressive. While it works for focus, it tunes out all else that matters in life. I call the drug a relationship killer. It runs her so her on speed during the day while on it. When she comes down at night and weekends. Stay away. It has taken her to being a completely different person than I know and care about

  58. Christopher Henderson

I have taken Vyvanse for ADHD for 4 years-amazing! 30 mg at 5am and 30 mg at 2pm on my 12-hour shift, never on weekends. I am a 35-year-old otherwise healthy female. Initial weight loss from 140 to 130 but stopped there. Never tired, clear thinking. I have to remember to drink water because my job involves a lot of talking, and dry mouth is huge, and sometimes sweating (learned to wear T-shirts and dress lighter). Recently decided to take time off because I wonder about long-term effects, but I think after four years I’ve lost many of the natural strategies I developed and was much more all over the place than I remember in university… very frustrating, so I started again. I will always take med breaks, though, because I don’t want to develop tolerance-I also love my many qualities of having ADHD. I’ve read a lot of comments about pains, aches, and emotions-not experienced this in four years… everyone is so different, and what works for some just doesn’t for others.

  59. Aria Chapman

Vyvanse has been wonderful to me. Struggling with ADHD, mood swings, and anxiety has not. I am even diagnosed with narcolepsy. With this in mind, I now have the ability to make healthier choices without meds, but I still strongly recommend Vyvanse. AA (Al-Anon) has changed my life, and I don’t drink much anymore. I’m thankful for this medicine as well as the lovely people in my life. I love Jesus too

Update from my April post… The drug is an absolute miracle that’s saved me from the out-of-control eating and depression that consumed me every single day. Taking Vyvanse 50 mg helps me to never even think about food and plan binge evenings and weekends. In fact, I never want to eat large or small quantities of really bad foods at all anymore. I’ve lost all my binge weight! I hope to never go off the med for fear of my eating disorder returning. It is the only thing that’s worked for me after years of therapy/treatment. Amazing!

  61. Aaron Fox

I take Vyvanse for ADHD and Binge Eating Disorder. I am a recovered drug/alcohol addict (3.5 years) and that ‘urge’ moved to food. I am SO happy with Vyvanse, and think I’m finally ready to get off my Suboxone soon. This is the closest to ‘normal’ I have ever felt

  62. Ryan Dixon

It works well, some of the reviews on here are just strange. One of them being someone was taking this for depression and they complained it didn’t work? Well, I wonder why their doctor prescribed it to them, as it is for ADHD and BED. But all in all, if you follow the regime correctly, you’re going to be fine

  63. Caleb Hart

I am 13 years old. I’ve been on Vyvanse for about 7 years. It really helps me focus and concentrate on things that are important. It also helps me know when and when not to do things, like talk when someone else is talking.

  64. Nora Lane

I have tried several medications for chronic fatigue syndrome and nothing seems to help more than an hour or two. Vyvanse is a wonderful medication for chronic daytime sleepiness and fatigue. I could not believe the amount of work I was able to get done. It does not make you feel ‘drugged’ like other medications do. I felt like my old self again, before the days of CFS

  65. Ellie Knight

I started on Vyvanse for BED in Oct. 2018. It gave me lots of energy & loss of appetite & increased my libido! Started on 30 mg & now increased to 70 mg. It’s now March 2025 & still on it & was weighing 177 before I started & now weigh 130. Went from size 10 to size 4. I know my dr. will be taking me off of it when I run out. Just hoping my appetite doesn’t come back

  66. Stella Grant

Taking Vyvanse for Binge Eating Disorder. Struggled my entire life with food. Weight has gone up and down countless times depending on if I’m in my healthy mode or my bingeing mode. Started Vyvanse 6 months ago and didn’t think it worked at first, so stopped. Tried it again and this time it clicked. I can feel when my body is satiated AND am able to stop eating. I can go an entire day and not think about food, which is a miracle. I think this must be how it feels for ‘normal’ people.
